Synopsis:

As a cop who keeps paranormals in line, Des has a hard time trusting them. So why does he want the beautiful werewolf Lana more than his next breath? She's mouthy, flamboyant and distractingly sexy—not the type of woman for a reserved mage like him. When a dangerous new drug shows up in Detroit, Des must locate the source, and Lana is determined to help. But their plan goes awry, trapping them in a demon dimension. But if they're going to survive, they'll have to rely on each other, even though getting closer will add fuel to a fire that's already burning out of control...

My Opinion:

I found Lana to be hilarious!  She is sarcastic and amusing, and doesn't let Des's disapproval get to her (on the outside, at least). I loved reading their story.

Ms. Pape has created a wonderfully paranormal Chicago that definitely beats the present one. I loved how she took a real live city and gave it a whole other magical side filled with extremely sexy men of different species (who said hot men were only human?)! It was a delightful read that got better and better as I flipped more pages. I'm excited to read the other books in the series!

My favorite thing about the book is she didn't stick with the normal, over used paranormal creatures, but made a few (okay, a lot) of her own. My favorite creature was the ele-cow! Haha, so cute and funny. That's what makes her unique!

Everything about the book was entertaining: plot, dialogue, characters--everything!

Any paranormal lover would love to get lost in Ms. Pape's new, and definitely improved Chicago!
