Part socialite, part high-powered executive, Rebecca Thorpe isn't looking for Mr. Right. What she does want is Mr. Right-Here-Right-Now. So when she spots the trading card featuring police officer Jake Donnelly, she knows she's found the perfect guy….

Jake is hot, sexy as heck and completely different. More important, he's not looking for anything serious. But when a little sizzle turns scorching hot, Rebecca wonders if a tiny taste of this tempting cop will be enough. If she plays her cards right, maybe she can have more…and have him!

My Opinion:

The whole idea of having trading cards with sexy men on it is...well fantastic! My god, women all around the world would clamor to have them! How does Ms. Leigh come up with this stuff? Extraordinary.

I got  into the It's Trading Men series when I read the third book for review with the review company, Night Owl Reviews. I absolutely loved it, so I asked for the second (thinking it was the first, but obviously not) book as well. Don't worry if you can't find the first book, they can be read as stand alones and you won't miss anything. These books are fabulous; I'm going to try to get the first one as well.

What I love about this novel is the theme: Love shows up at the oddest times. Rebecca is ready to give up. After first date failures, she has no time to look for Mr. Right. As she is about to turn in the last card, she bumps into Jake Donnely's card and realizes he's perfect. For a one-night stand. But it doesn't work that way. They realize they have stronger feelings for just a one-night stand.

Throughout the entire novel I was engaged and definitely intrigued, hooked on every page and excited to read what's next. Not only could I not wait to see if the couple lives happily ever after, but also to see if Mr. West was really the drug addict involved in drug trafficking. Ms. Leigh writes a great story, not just a great Harlequin Blaze romance.

Character development was great. I feel like I have known them all my life. Ms. Leigh left no base uncovered by the end of the book. I can't tell you how many times I get to the end of the book, and I still don't know anything about a main characters past. Having questions unanswered by the end of a novel is so frustrating!

Now I get to tell you about the love scenes!!! They were delightfully sexy! I can tell you I was not bored in the least. Spectacular descriptions made it uber-easy to picture what the characters were feeling, doing, seeing, you name it! My favorite part is the first sex scene, when they still believe "it's only going to be a one-night stand" there is no awkwardness between Jake and Rebecca; they were very open with each other about what they wanted and liked, as if they'd been "doing it" for awhile.

Jake and his father's relationship is heartwarming, I love how sweet Jake is! Not only to Rebecca as a way to impress her, but he's naturally charming and protective of his father and friends as well. Not many people, men especially, are like that. Even if Jake isn't a real person, he inspires women everywhere to wait for a man as caring as he. Love it!

I enjoy the informal approach Ms. Leigh has on writing. It's very comfortable, not always light, but definitely addictive. I have been an addict of romance for a long time, but nobody has ever drawn me in the way she has.

Recommendations??

Harlequin lovers. Macho men admirers. Romance readers. Rugged Cop addicts. Every women could probably enjoy reading this fabulous book!
